How it works
How KoberTag works
From your labeled drawings, lists, or sketches to consistent estimates, reports, or counts.
Turn what you already have into useful output. Upload it, and KoberTag reads the codes, matches them against your table of values, and gives you a result you can review, share, and export.
The four stages
Upload what you have
KoberTag accepts multiple types of input. Upload a PDF from your CAD tool, a block list exported as a CSV file, or a photo of a hand-drawn sketch or a printed plan. No new tools, no data migration, no format conversion. Whatever you already have is fine.
For a full description of each input path and when to use them, see Supported File Types below.
KoberTag reads and matches
Once your input is in, KoberTag finds every code and matches each one against your configured table of values: your Price List, your weights list, your hours table, or whatever you set up. Matching is exact. If something can't be matched, KoberTag flags it for your review. It never adds lines that aren't there.
For inputs like photos of hand-drawn sketches, KoberTag uses AI to propose a first reading. You confirm what's correct before anything becomes final. From that point on, the process runs the same way every time.
Same input, same output, every time. No hidden AI decisions at calculation time.
Your result comes out
KoberTag generates the output based on the mode you selected: an itemized estimate with prices, a report with weighted totals in any unit, or a count of items per category. Line items, quantities, subtotals, ready to review and edit.
The KoberTag chat assistant is right there. Ask in plain language for bulk changes, sorting, translations, or a client-facing summary. It previews any change before applying, and you can always undo.
Brand, compare, share, and collaborate
When your result is ready, KoberTag gives you multiple ways to deliver it, compare it, personalize it, and work on it with a team.
Customize and brand your results
Configure everything that appears on your output once: header with your logo, footer, standard notes, warranty templates, and terms and conditions. Reuse across every estimate. Text and images, exactly how you want them, without rebuilding each time.
- Header, footer, and logo templates
- Warranty and terms & conditions templates
- Standard notes reusable across estimates
- Text and image blocks, fully configurable
Catch the differences between versions with Comparator & Heat Map
When a plan or estimate changes, the Heat Map & Comparator shows exactly what moved, visually and in the numbers. Compare estimate to estimate, plan to plan, or estimate to a new plan. Requoting a revision takes seconds, not hours.
- Per-line differences, called out
- Visual overlay with adjustable sensitivity
- The same engine every time, no AI guessing about what changed
Share with your audience
Send a link to a frozen version of your estimate. Share it with a client, a supplier, or your own team. Each link can be revoked individually. See how many times each link was opened. Edits after sharing don't change what the recipient sees. The shared copy stays as it was.
Collaborate as a team
KoberTag supports team workflows with three roles: Owner, Member, and Viewer. Assign roles per workspace. A single account can belong to multiple workspaces, useful if you consult for several companies or run parallel operations.
- Owner: full control, billing, team management
- Member: create and edit estimates
- Viewer: read-only access to review or approve
- One account, multiple workspaces, each fully isolated
Two-factor authentication, per-tenant data isolation, and full audit logs come standard on every plan.
Supported File Types
KoberTag is flexible about input. What matters is that there are codes it can read and a table of values to match them against. Here are the three ways users typically bring their work into KoberTag.
Labeled drawings
The direct path. Your CAD template has blocks with attribute codes already added. Export as PDF, upload to KoberTag, and the codes are read instantly. This is how most experienced users work. The labeling is a one-time template setup, and then every drawing after that flows through in seconds.
See labeled drawings use cases →Block lists or material reports
Sometimes you don't need to upload the whole drawing. Any CAD tool can export a list of blocks used in a project, or a material report based on your model. KoberTag reads that list the same way it reads a drawing. Useful for large projects where the drawing is too complex to process directly, or when you want to work from a specific material takeoff.
See block list use cases →Photos of hand-drawn sketches or printed plans
Not everything starts in CAD. A hand-drawn sketch on paper, a printed plan you received from a client, or a whiteboard drawing from a site visit: KoberTag can read all of them. AI proposes a first reading, you confirm what's correct in a review step, and from there the process runs the same way every time. No black-box AI decisions at calculation time.
See photo input use cases →Whatever the input, the engine is the same: read codes, match values, produce output. The same result every time.
Frequently asked questions
What CAD tools work with KoberTag?
Any CAD tool that supports block attributes: AutoCAD, BricsCAD, SketchUp, and others. As long as you can add attribute codes to your blocks and export as PDF, KoberTag can read it. You don't need to switch tools or change your workflow.
Do I need to relabel all my existing drawings?
No. You add codes to your CAD template once, and from that point on every new drawing carries the codes automatically. Existing drawings can be updated when convenient, or you can start with new projects. If your existing drawings don't have codes and you don't want to add them, the photo input path may work for you.
What happens if a code doesn't match my table of values?
KoberTag flags it. It never adds lines that aren't there. You either add the missing item to your table, correct the code in the drawing, or skip that line manually. The unmatched code is visible in the result so nothing is silently lost.
Can I use KoberTag without any CAD software?
Yes. If you have a printed plan, a hand-drawn sketch, or a photo of a drawing from any source, you can upload it as an image. KoberTag uses AI to propose a first reading, and you confirm the codes before anything is processed further.
What if my Price List has thousands of items?
KoberTag handles large tables. Matching is fast because it's exact. There's no fuzzy search or heuristic guessing. If your list is particularly large or complex, setup assistance is available to help you organize it. See /setup-assistance.
Can I try KoberTag before configuring anything?
Yes. Your free trial includes 10 analyses, email only, no credit card. It's limited by analysis count, not by time, so you can explore the interface and test with sample data before setting up your own Price List or CAD template.
What if I need help getting started?
Setup assistance is available from $275. We help you configure your Price List, prepare your CAD template, and generate your first result. See /setup-assistance for details.
